Global Challenge Lab 2021 - MindlyCo
Global Challenge Lab is a 10 day entrepreneurship hackhaton event to find solutions to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 focused on achieving good health and wellbeing around the world. I teamed up with 5 other students to collaborate in The Collective to produce our solution MindlyCo; an accessible and personalised app that helps with early mental health intervention for university students in developing countries.
Background
I was the UI/UX designer of the team and developed a prototype of the app in 2 days. To achieve the high fidelity prototype I went through several stages including ideation, styling choices and prototyping.
Style Choices
Alongside prototyping the app, I also develop the branding of MindlyCo and uses the same color palette and font to keep it coherent. The lighter colors are used as the background color of the app to make it visible and easier to read. While the darker green colors are used to highlight the features and the logo.
I landed on Josefin Sans as the font for the branding and the app as it provides a clean look. Josefin Sans regular is used throughout the application as titles, headings and content. While Josefin Sans Bold is only used to highlight crucial information such as referring the users to professionals.
Final Design
Attached below is a short summary of the app that was embedded to the pitch and got the team to the final round of the competition. Access the prototype here.
Traction Survey
Before the pitch, we conducted user survey with the targeted users about the prototype, the key features and if they would use it. The insights from the traction survey is listed below:
